My Lament & My Grace

My Lament And My Grace

Alone on a hill
Just his voice and mine
I poured out my sadness
To my great Divine

I held out my dry hands
I gave God my wet eyes
I looked up to heaven
and let out my cries

“The stars, Lord, they shine
They’re so easy to find
The whole world knows their place
But where, Lord, am I?

The kings, Lord, they laugh
The world follows their path
They speak, fools rejoice
But where, Lord, is my voice?

Lord, what is it worth
to love in this earth?
If no one can see
Your love burning in me?”

And there, on that hill
The Lord came to my side
He spoke in my heart
His words dried my eyes

“My child, don’t love to be seen
Love, so you yourself can see
For whenever you love
You’re looking at me”

And from that moment on
I’ve understood grace
for whenever I love
I now see God’s face

love

If God is in control, love is the only means to his goal

Love

If God is the light,
love is the spark that makes him ignite…

If God is the way,
love is the path he chooses to take…

If God is the truth,
love is the voice he presents himself through…

If God is the life,
love is his body that makes him alive…

If God is the song,
love is the melody he balances on…

If God is the King,
love is the kingdom he reigns in…

If God is in control,
love is the only means to his goal…

If God is love,
then you are love too…
for you are in him,
and he is in you.

God is love.

Who Is Jesus

Love Is The Greatest

Love Is The Greatest

Love is the greatest
Love is the strongest
Love is the deepest
Love is the longest

Love lifts us up
Love holds us tight
Love heals our wounds
Love makes us light

Love covers our weakness
Love makes us all shine
Love thinks we’re all perfect
Love thinks we’re divine

Love is a friend
Love is a brother
Love is a father
Love is a mother

Love is a kingdom
Love is a seed
Love is a king
Love washes our feet

Love is in all things
Love is the way
Love is eternity
Love is a day

Love is the greatest
Love is the strongest
Love is the deepest
Love is the longest

Love lifts us up
Love holds us tight
Love heals our wounds
Love makes us light

Love helps us hear
Love gives us sight
Love is our hope
Love, our delight

The King Of The Fools

Sometimes I want to cry
But my tears stay repressed,
Refusing to move
Despite my protest

Sometimes I want to groan,
Scream words I detest
But my voice, she too fails me
Despite my request

Sometimes I want to sit down
But the world makes me stand
And so I keep marching
Despite my demands

And in these strange moments
Exposed as a fool
I know of just one person
Whom I can turn to

The King of the fools
The King of the weak
The King of the hurting
The King of the meek

The King who identifies
With those in their faults
And lifts their heads up,
The King who exalts

And so I’m exalted,
Yet not through my works
But through my great King
Who heals my hurts

The King of the fools
The King of the weak
The King of the hurting
The King of the meek

And so I have hope
For my King never fails
To hold me through weakness
Till his strength prevails

The King of the saints
The King of the strong
The King of all grace
To whom I belong!

If God Is…

If God is the light,
love is the spark that makes him ignite…

If God is the way,
love is the path he chooses to take…

If God is the truth,
love is the voice he presents himself through…

If God is the life,
love is his body that makes him alive…

If God is the song,
love is the melody he’s carried upon…

If God is the King,
love is the kingdom he reigns within…

If God is in control,
love is the only means to his goal…

And above all, if God is love,
then you are love too
For you are in God,
and God is in you.

God is love.

The Spiritual Life

The Spiritual Life

The Spiritual Life
My soul is dancing upon a complicated mind
My spirit abiding in the great Divine
My body slaving to buy bread and wine
And here, I wrestle, with all that is mine

For I am a spirit, living in the light
I am a body, drawn to delight
I am a soul, unsure what is right
And here, I wrestle, with this united life

Three, but still one
In all directions they run
It is here I have failed
It is here I have won

Poem By Mick Mooney

Stand Up

Our souls are as deep as the universe is wide
But our heads keep us trapped in a small box inside
Our possibilities are as pure as the great Divine
But our heads keep us thinking in ways that divide

Our hearts want to love like the sun wants to shine
But our minds are afraid that they’ll become blind
Our spirits can transcend this place and time
But our minds only want what they can define

But what if we rebel & let our hearts lead the way?
What do you think the heavens would say?
What if fear grabs our chest & demands we face him and fight?
What if God makes us heroes for standing up for the light?

And it’s me, and it’s you
So tell me love, what shall we do?
Should we protest or sing along with the band?
Should we sit down when we’re destined to stand?

Dreams In My Heart

Last week I shared this thought on my facebook page

“Life is a passionate struggle to live out the dreams in our heart. We spend so much time frustrated at the struggle, but it’s part of what makes the coming victory so much better. Take the punches and the set backs, take the mistakes and the failures, take them with the knowledge you will laugh about them one day. Success, after all, is just the last stop on the failure train. Don’t get off too early! We are destined for the final stop.”

Afterwards I was feeling a little poetic, so I also wrote a poem to go along with the thought. Hope you enjoy it.

“The Dreams In My Heart”

There’s a seed in my heart
That’s destined to grow
But it’s taking so long
And I’ve got to go

I’ve got dreams in my heart
With a path that I know
But I still can’t yet walk it
For they still need to grow

I’ve got dreams to fulfill
But still nobody knows
for they’re still in a seed
and they’re not yet on show

I can’t shake them away
I can’t stop their delay
So I take on the struggle
To fight for their day

The day when my dreams
transform into life
no longer a seed
but a hard fought delight

And when I look back
And I think of the fight
I’ll smile all the more
As I dance in the light
